How to Find Your Dream Stay on Anguilla Island

Picture this: you step off the ferry after a breezy 25-minute ride from Sint Maarten, and suddenly, you’re on one of the most stunning islands you’ve ever seen—welcome to Anguilla. We knew from day one this place was special, but it wasn’t just the postcard-perfect beaches that won us over; it was the laid-back vibe and warm island spirit that made us fall in love instantly.
Short on time?
Where Is Anguilla?
If you’re wondering where Anguilla is, it’s a hidden gem just a short ferry ride from Sint Maarten. The trip takes about 25 minutes, with ferries running every three hours throughout the day. You could visit on a day trip, but trust me—one day is never enough! We recommend staying a few days to fully enjoy everything this island paradise offers.
To catch the ferry, go to the Marigot Ferry Port in Sint Maarten. Before boarding, you’ll need to complete your visa process and pay a port fee of $5 per person. The ferry ticket costs $20 per person. The whole process is quick and easy, and before you know it, you’re on your way to paradise!

If you’re ready to enjoy a bit of luxury, the Four Seasons Resort Anguilla is an excellent choice. With breathtaking beachfront views, world-class service, and a peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to unwind in paradise.
We had a few unforgettable dinners there, and every moment felt special. Imagine waking up to the sound of gentle waves while sipping your morning coffee—pure bliss. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the whole experience radiated comfort, relaxation, and luxury.
Turtle’s Nest Beach Resort
For a more budget-friendly stay, Turtle’s Nest Beach Resort is a hidden gem just a short walk from the Four Seasons. This cozy beachfront spot offers one-bedroom apartments with everything you need for a relaxing stay, and you can step right onto the sand from your door. It’s the perfect way to enjoy Anguilla’s beauty without breaking the bank.
Cheers to a Great Anguilla Adventure
From the moment we opened the door to our room, we knew this trip was off to a perfect start. Waiting for us was a beautiful surprise, a complimentary bucket filled with snacks, nuts, and a bottle of red wine. It was such a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for an amazing stay. As fate would have it, it was Dan’s birthday, and that bucket of treats became the perfect way to start our celebration.
Why We Stayed in Two Apartments
During our time in Anguilla, we enjoyed the best of both worlds by staying in two different beachfront apartments, a cozy studio and a spacious one-bedroom unit. We spent the first two days in the studio before moving to the one-bedroom apartment because we love to explore.
Typically, we book two or three nights first to see how we like the resort. After that, we test the internet, check the amenities, and decide if it feels right to stay longer. When a place wins us over, we extend our visit. If not, we move on to the next property.
Both the studio and the one-bedroom had their charm, but the one-bedroom won us over with its large living room and nice kitchen. We even cooked a few meals and enjoyed the local flavors. The supermarket was just a short walk away, which made it easy to grab what we needed.

Sunsets, Sea Breezes, and Moonlit Nights
Let me tell you about our view—it was absolutely incredible! From our beachfront balcony, we watched stunning sunsets every evening and spent hours enjoying the peaceful scene. Sometimes we worked or planned our next adventure, other times we just relaxed and listened to the waves. At night, the moonlit sea looked like something from a storybook. It was truly magical.
Pool or Sea? The Ultimate Vacation Dilemma
The pool was clean and beautiful, and we spent countless hours soaking up the sun. Choosing between the pool and the sea wasn’t always easy. What about you? Which one wins for you? For us, the sea usually takes the crown. There’s just something special about the gentle waves and salty water that keeps calling us back.
Rooftop Sunsets You’ll Never Forget
One of our favorite spots on the property was the rooftop. It wasn’t fancy, but the views and sunsets from up there were absolutely stunning. If you ever stay here, make sure to catch at least one rooftop sunset. There are tables and chairs, perfect for dinner or a glass of wine as you enjoy the view. Anguilla truly has some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen.
