What Makes Tirta Gangga Water Palace Unique?

One of our favorite palaces in Bali is Tirta Gangga Water Palace, a beautifully designed royal water garden built in 1948 by the last King of Karangasem. This serene palace combines traditional Balinese architecture with touches of Chinese influence, creating an enchanting setting that feels like a fairytale. The palace grounds feature stunning pools, fountains, and vibrant gardens with colorful flowers that are perfect for photos.

Walk Among the Magic of Tirta Gangga

A standout feature of Tirta Gangga is the large pond adorned with stepping stones, allowing visitors to walk across as koi fish swim below. The water is fed by natural springs, making it not only clear and refreshing but also sacred to the Balinese Hindu community. You can feed the koi fish and hop from stone to stone, enjoying the peaceful environment. It’s an amazing feeling to move along the stones, but be careful, as it’s easy to slip and fall in. We saw someone take an unexpected dip, which they considered a blessing, as the spring water is believed to be holy.

Surrounded by serene scenery and lush greenery, Tirta Gangga is truly a photographer’s paradise and an ideal spot to unwind while experiencing Bali’s unique blend of art, nature, and spirituality.
