Where is Krabi Immigration and How Do You Get There?
Address: 7 382 Sai Thai, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81000
Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM
With just three days left before our visa expired, we had two options: leave the country and return later, or extend our visa. You guessed it—we chose to extend and enjoy another month in Thailand!
You can easily reach the immigration office by Grab, taxi, or tuk-tuk. We opted to rent a motorbike near our hotel for 250 Baht per day. Staying near Ao Nang Beach, close to the Ao Nang Landmark Night Market, made it a convenient 30-minute ride to the immigration office. On another occasion, since we’ve gone through this process twice in Krabi, we used Grab, which cost us 540 Baht for a round trip.

The roads are well-maintained, offering stunning views of limestone cliffs along the way. Traffic was light on our drive there, but it picked up on the way back. Be sure to wear your helmet since there are two police checkpoints near the immigration office where they check documents and issue fines for not complying.

Quick and Easy: Our Visa Extension Experience at Krabi Immigration
When we arrived at around 9:30 a.m., there were about 10 people ahead of us. An immigration officer promptly approached us to determine the reason for our visit and checked all of our documents to ensure we had everything in order. After that, she asked us to take a number, find a seat, and wait. Soft Thai music was playing in the lobby, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Here are all the documents you need to prepare before heading to the immigration office. If you have everything ready and in order, trust me, it’ll be a quick visit. Make sure you have the following:
1. Your original passport
2. One photocopy of your passport’s first page
3. One photocopy of your Thailand entry stamp
4. A completed TM7 immigration form It’s best to print and fill it out in advance to save time.
5. One 4×6 passport photo
6. Your visitor address notification You can request this from your hotel.
The processing fee is 1,900 baht, so make sure to bring cash. Exact change is recommended as they may be short on giving change.
Krabi Immigration’s One-Stop Service: Hassle-Free Visa Extension
If you prefer not to prepare your documents yourself, Krabi Immigration offers a “one-stop service” that handles everything for you. You won’t need to fill out any forms or worry about paperwork once you’re there. All you need to provide is your passport, your visitor address notification, and the fee of 1,900 THB per person in cash, plus any extra fees for prints and photos. Just keep in mind, it might take a bit more time since you’ll still go through all the steps above, but other than that, it’s easy breezy!

Quick Visa Extension in Krabi: Just 50 Minutes!
The whole process took 50 minutes, including a 40-minute wait. Not bad at all. We grabbed our passports and were ready to enjoy an extra month in Thailand. We’ve done the same process at the Pattaya Immigration Office, but it’s a bit different there—you don’t get your passports back the same day.
You can read all about it in our guide, How to Extend Your Tourist Visa in Pattaya.

We got our passports and were back on the road to Ao Nang Beach. If you want to see what we did next, check out our YouTube vlog.
