Eating Out in Grenada: Two Restaurants You’ll Love

GRENADA QUICK GUIDE
Grenada is calm, green, and full of natural beauty. Known as the Spice Isle, it offers a mix of beaches, rainforests, waterfalls, and colorful towns. The island feels relaxed and far less crowded than many Caribbean destinations.
Best time to visit December to April has the driest weather and warm temperatures. May and June are also great if you prefer fewer crowds and better value.
Getting around Renting a car gives you the most freedom to explore the island. Taxis are easy to find but can be expensive. Local minibuses are cheap and frequent, though less flexible.
Budget and costs Expect to spend around $10–$20 USD per person for local meals, $2–$5 USD for minibus rides, and roughly $20–$50 USD for tours or attractions. Accommodation ranges from simple guesthouses to luxury resorts.
Where to stay
Bougainvillea Apartments, great location near the beach
Villa Adina, a luxury villa with pool, perfect for a quiet hideaway or an exotic escape
Marks Reef, a comfortable stay with a relaxed island feel
Good to know Grenada is safe, friendly, and easy to navigate. Life moves at a slower pace, so plan with flexibility and enjoy the relaxed island rhythm.
Grenada is home to many great restaurants and cafes, but two stood out as our favorites. We want to share them with you in this blog. Sails Restaurant & Bar became our go-to spot for lunch, and Umbrellas Beach Bar was our top choice for dinner on most nights. Both offer exceptionally delicious food and are highly recommended.

Sails Restaurant & Bar in St. George
Sails Restaurant & Bar is located in one of the most beautiful spots in St. George’s, right by the harbor. While dining, you can watch fish swimming in the water and boats coming and going. We were warmly welcomed during our visit and really enjoyed the food. Both the indoor and outdoor settings were beautiful and added to the overall dining experience.
Our Favorite Dishes at Sails Restaurant & Bar
We tried a variety of dishes at the restaurant, but these were our favorites. The catch of the day was always our top choice for lunch. It was grilled to perfection and served with garlic butter, making it incredibly delicious.
Catch Fillet at Sails Restaurant & Bar
Another standout dish is the catch fillet. The freshly caught fish is served with a lemon garlic butter and herb sauce and is incredibly tender. It practically melts in your mouth. We usually pair it with a side of rice, which complements the dish perfectly and makes it a satisfying meal.
Grilled Chicken with Ginger Sauce
We also ordered the grilled chicken, served with a tomato basil topping and a ginger-infused sauce. The sauce pairs perfectly with the flame-grilled chicken, adding warmth and a mild spice that enhances the smoky flavor. It is rich and creamy, giving each bite a soft and satisfying texture. Combined with the tender, juicy chicken, this dish truly stands out.
Umbrellas Beach Bar on Grand Anse Beach
Umbrellas Beach Bar is a beachfront restaurant located on Grand Anse Beach, our favorite beach in Grenada. With beautiful ocean views and a perfect setting for sunset dinners, it is an ideal place to relax and unwind. The restaurant has seating on two floors, offering great views of the beach and surroundings. In the evenings, you can enjoy live music with Caribbean rhythms performed by local bands. We loved the food and atmosphere so much that it became our go-to dinner spot on most nights during our stay.
Our Grenada Travel Vlog
Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken
The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was a great choice for a light but filling dinner. Crisp Romaine lettuce gave it a fresh crunch, while the creamy Caesar dressing added just the right balance of tang and richness. Crunchy croutons and shaved parmesan added texture and flavor, and the tender grilled chicken brought everything together. It was satisfying without feeling heavy.
Short on time?
Grilled Fish of the Day
The grilled fish of the day is always a great choice since it is freshly caught the same day. Served with French fries, it is simple and absolutely delicious. The fish is grilled perfectly, with a tender and flaky texture that melts in your mouth. The light smoky flavor pairs well with the crispy fries, making it a satisfying and flavorful meal.
The Lighthouse Burger
The Lighthouse Burger puts a fun twist on a classic with a great mix of flavors. Grilled pineapple adds a sweet and juicy contrast to the well seasoned beef, while hot peppers bring a mild kick. The homemade bread is soft but sturdy and holds the burger together without getting soggy, even with the BBQ sauce. Each bite balances sweet, spicy, and smoky flavors, making this burger a meal worth savoring.

Pumpkin Dessert with Caramelized Banana
We tried something new that we had not seen elsewhere on the island: a pumpkin dessert with caramelized banana and island spices. The cinnamon flavor stood out, with the pumpkin baked to a lightly crispy texture and the banana perfectly caramelized.
If it is your birthday, the restaurant makes it extra special by offering a complimentary birthday cocktail or dessert. It is a nice touch that makes the celebration even sweeter.
Live Music Evenings
Every night, we enjoyed live music from a fantastic band. One evening, a singer with an amazing voice stood out and truly captivated us. Her performance was memorable, and we loved the music from the entire band.
